Vintage 1950's 'Koupy Boutique' blue wool shift dress.
Koupy was Charles Kouperstein who founded the label in the 1930s and the label was a key player in the 'Model House Group' who sought boost UK couture trade in the immediate post war years.
They did continue trading until the 80s apparently but this 'wiggle' dress is certainly much earlier, late 1950s or possibly early 1960s.
The fabric is wool but may be a wool/silk blend as the grey blue tones catch the light very attractively with movement.
Super flattering shape with a curved waistline, decorative bow on the side and a belt at the back to nip in the waist .
The skirt part of the dress is lined.
Small kick pleat at the bottom of the skirt with a hidden metal zip at the back to fasten.
Labelled as a size 14 but more like a modern day size 12/10
Bust 36" Waist 30" Hips 39" Length 39"
Price include UK postages
