Possibly our most beautiful piece, the work that has gone into this gown is remarkable. Constructed from black moire silk, pink silk with grey lace overlay and cream netting to the neckline as well as a hessian underskirt it's a testament to the sewing skills in the ateliers of the past. There are no labels or clues to date, our best guess is 1930s or 1940s based on style and material.
The gown itself has a fully lined floor length skirt, black with two pink lace panels. Narrow waist and the panels are repeated in the off the shoulder neckline which is held together by a delicate net panel to front and back.
Overall in remarkable condition, some wear to the hem and light wear to the netting, as pictured. Signs of possible historic repairs to seams but no rips or tears
Our model is an 8 5'9". The dress has a waist of approx 26" and a bust of 32"
They really don't make them like this anymore!
